Jodhpur is one of the largest cities of Rajasthan. It is also known as the princely state because of the many palaces, forts and temples near the Thar Desert. Jodhpur is also named as "Sun City" and "Blue City" because of its warm weather and blue colored houses around the Mehrangarh Fort.
Best time to visit the city is from October to March. Summers start from April and remain till June when temperature is very high. The Monsoon starts from July and remains till September with high humidity and the winter season is from December to March when days are warm but nights are cold.
One can try Rajasthani snacks like Pyaaj Kachori, bajreki roti with lashunki chutney, Dal-Bati-Churma, which you can get in every city of Rajasthan. The best reason to visit Jaisalmer, especially for food lovers are its authentic Rajasthani dishes. One must try Rajasthan's signature dishes and thali on his/her visit.
Exploring Jodhpur's Havelis and Forts are prime activities. One can enjoy long walks while exploring forts and taking photos of Rajasthan's old era.
Kaylana Lake: Kaylana Lake is situated approximately 8 km west of Jodhpur. It is an artificial lake between igneous rock-formations. It receives its water from Hati Nehar, which is linked to the Indra Gandhi canal. One can see a number of Babool trees (and various birds in winter season). The lake is a source of drinking-water for Jodhpur city and nearby towns.
After sunset, enjoy the evening with cultural dance & music along with hookas. The state also has dine-in restaurants with folk music for evening fun and relaxation.
